Well, it is Sept. now and hunting season and Bill would really like some hunting land. So I nonchalantly mention this piece of property, but list the negatives first. (the road, the distance, the driveway, the porshe) I show him the listing and say we could just look at it when we have time.
So a couple of days later, we start our journey over to the house. We turn into the driveway and we are buying the house, there standing to the right of the driveway are at least 4 deer greeting us. (I think the sellers just let them out of their cages.) The sellers are sitting on the front porch in their rocking chairs. The sweetest people in their mid 80's and ready to move on to a smaller place with less upkeep. Come to find out, they moved into the house when they were our age.
Oh the things we saw. Well, lets start by saying the house was built in the 1800's which means there was NO bathroom and Kitchen in homes back then. So the bathroom and kitchen was added on in the back of the house. The kitchen is 9 x 18 and that includes the eating area. And right behind the eating area there is a full bath...well didn't set well with me. (YUK...a bathroom right behind people that are eating.) And the size of the kitchen/eating area...kinda small for a family of six.
Looks like LOTS of worth, but it'll be worth it. You'll make it cozy and yours in no time. Hey! Maybe we'll even come visit you some day!
