Finally an update.

Well, we have been busy unpacking boxes, it is feeling like Christmas here in Maryland. We are finding things that are still our treasures and lots of things that were our treasures. Funny how time can change a persons taste, or maybe it is just a new home and we are not wanting to fill it up with that stuff. So with that said, we have quite a large pile of old treasures.

We had our first overnight company on Thursday evening, our house is becoming a little bit more like a home when that happens and we are thrilled. And then again on Sunday afternoon it was a spur of the moment invite and it worked out. Thankfully our company can overlook our numerous packed boxes and undecorated walls, we are attempting to hurry through this unpacking stage, but other things need our attention.

School started the 7th of this month, so instead of unpacking boxes my attention has turned to keeping the students here focused. (This is kinda difficult when they have a so many treasures to play with, that were just unpacked.)

For those of you who have kiddos, I am sure you are familiar with the book, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." Well, we were wishing for "Cloudy with a Chance of Grass Seed and Straw," the past ten days...didn't happen. We have been getting our back and front lawn ready for seeding and in the process we realized we bought a farm...yep a rock farm...a very good rock farm. (hint to self, if the house is stone/rock, there is probably LOTS of rocks on the property) So we have just a little bit left of seeding and strawing (is that a word?), and then we are done with that stage and onto landscaping on the outside. We have been like regular farmers, watching the weather, getting the seed scattered before the rain (sometimes during the rain) and then hoping it doesn't rain too hard to get washed away. And then watering the seed if not enough rain and then of course it rains within the next couple of hours...which raises the question, "Does a weather reporter ever get fired?"

This was our second dumpster and as one can tell we probably needed a third.

The newly seeded lawn in the back.
