Well, here is an update.
One of the builders took off some facia on the second story and as he had it almost off and very LARGE black snake fell down. He said that it was quite cool, so the snake was lathargic and didn't move too fast. After speaking with him, he believes that those snake skins we found in the attic belong to this snake. They took the rather LARGE black snake and put it in the woods across the river.
