And the Dust Still Flies

And boy it is dusty. Good thing that we have a week or so before company is coming...clean up will sure be a doozy!!

We decided to take down the wooden (fake) beams in the living room and as a result we had some major repairs to do. We had (notice I wrote had...after this job I don't know if he claims us anymore ;-)) a dear friend of ours come up and help us with it and with his advice we just went ahead a re-drywalled the whole ceiling. It was a long long Friday, Saturday and a couple hours on Sunday for finish up. We still have a wee bit of sanding and drywalling to do, but not much. We have insulated everything we possibly could, so we hope to be able to have a nice toasty room in the near future.

We are working out what we are going to do with the fireplace mantel, so ideas are flying back and forth between Bill and I...to see what we can come up with. We are hoping to use the same rustic hickory that was used in our kitchen for the place above the fireplace mantel beam.

Our coat closet is going to be turned into a chair closet with storage shelves and then behind the front door we hope to put up some coat hooks (5-6) and possibly a decorative bench, currently this space is a tad wasted.
